The cost of boiler repair can vary depending on the extent of the fault or damage. You can expect to pay anything from £150 for a minor repair such as a replacement fan, gas valve or printed circuit board or closer to £400 for more serious work, such as a replacing a heat exchanger.

Who do you call to fix a boiler?

While historically, boilers would over-pressurise and explode with alarming regularity, modern boilers are manufactured to be able to withstand excessive pressure, and can typically handle an operating pressure of 20 PSI. When pressures increase beyond this level, the boiler can fail, which can lead to an explosion.

How efficient is my boiler?

The first thing to do is to check your boiler for a little sticker with an energy efficiency rating on it. Most modern boilers should have this sticker either on the boiler itself, or somewhere in the pack that you will have been given. The rating will be clearly displayed on this.
